1.)The theme that is shown here is irony. Equivel is creating a more serious atmosphere, this really changes Tita's life. Tradition is important to Mama Elena, the relationship between Tita and her mother is a old fashion one. Tita gives us a feeling of a Cinderella story. to work for her mother and not having a say, having someone die close to them but not getting all the love from the other mother.
2.) Pedro isn't really rebelling by saying he loves tita there.. he is mostly just being rude by marrying her. all in all Pedro never acts just says stuff. Titas rebellion, Telling her mom pedro didn't say anything to her mother.
