 Southern Food is popular around much of the united states and is know for its soul I am interested in southern food because I already like to grill and barbecue food. My grandpa was also from the south so my parents make a lot of southern food. I hope to find out how to make some of the more advanced barbecue food as well some good pie. Barbecue is popular because of the abundance of game in the south. Many people herded cattle or grew crops. A lot of corn is used in southern cooking, for example corn bread. This is  because the south has very fertile land for corn and other crops and most of it is on or near a coast. Sea food is a popular part of southern food. The rich farm land, abundance of sea creatures, and frequent amount of game makes southern food delicious. Many of the foods have come about because of settlers and other natives that were in the area. Most of southern food has a family recipe going back generations or a tradition when making the food. Southern recipes are passed down from generation to generation.
