Food blog post 2

The culture and food of the south is directly related to the people. People with a love for old school ways inspired the slow laid back approach that we all can characterize with the south. Small country towns allowed people to all get to know each other making the local diner the place to be. Although there are many feasts and holidays in the world, no holiday means more to the folks in the south than Fourth of July. A Fourth of July night is the definition of the south, with the grill going, loud fireworks and motorcycles the south lives for this night. I truly believe the people are what make the culture in the south. Everybody has such similar viewpoints and lifestyles that the culture was formed very fast. In order to properly demonstrate how people in the south all think alike, I chose one food that every single person in the south loves, ribs. Rib fests are the place to be on a Saturday night in the summer. Men, women, children, heck even dogs like ribs. My favorite form of ribs are honey glazed baby back ribs. This is the most popular form of ribs due to the sweet, but tangy southern taste. Since everyone comes to rib fests, people meet and talk and a person is instantly sucked into the friendly and tasty atmosphere. I truly believe that ribs bring people together. If you put two people who hate each other in the south in a room with ribs, guarantee they would not leave that room. The idea of competing and sharing ideas to make the best ribs also plays into the southern culture.
