Many traditional German dishes include mainly starches and different types of meats. If you do not like meats or potatoes a lot of food options are cut down. The typical German breakfast consists of sausage and different cheeses. The foods are dense and take a while to digest providing you with energy for the day. However, these foods are fatty and should be taken in small portions if you are watching your weight. During lunch people mainly eat fatty sausages with fries and this is not the healthiest option. However there are better alternatives like soups. This can be similar to the food shift in the United States. More people are taking fattier, fast options rather than the slower healthier options. Traditional meals had to be hearty and gave people the nutrition they needed to survive. As modern society allow more protection and requires less physical activity. This means that the hearty meals are not as vital but people still eat it. This can lead to unhealthy diets like those that can be seen in some areas of the United States.

  1. I really enjoyed your blog. I really liked how you connected the United States to your culture. It's a shame the culture is moving towards that way of eating. Do you have any idea why? I also enjoyed reading about your foods. A good sausage and french fries are tough to beat. Only thing I would say is explain a little more why you think the culture in so many countries is moving to a fast food way of eating. Great job buddy.
