The Italian culture is famous for their art, architecture, music, family values, and food. Pizza, pasta, Verdi, the coliseum, and inventions are some of the few things we know Italy does best. I’m interested in the Italian culture and finding out how their history has formed their outstanding art, music, and literature. Though I know about some of their discoveries, inventions, foods, and family traditions, Italy has more to offer. While some of the most popular dishes tied to the Italian culture are a slice of pizza, and heaping plate of pasta, there is more to the Italian cooking world. After the fall of the Roman Empire, the diversity of Italian food began to expand. With each each city-state wanting different traditions and identities, they formed their own unique way of cooking. For example, the southern regions of Italy favor hard-boiled spaghetti, while the north prefers a soft egg noddle. Throughout the years, Italian cuisine has grown because of the abundance of outside influences that have added their own flavor and appeal. Below is a picture associating a part of the country with the type of food they are famous for.

  1. Great blog. I didn't know the different parts of Italy had different main foods. I think it could have used some pictures or maps.
