India, the final frontier for your taste buds. Everyone has a culture that makes their mouth water every time they think of that culture’s food, well mine is India. India is my homeland, and even though I don’t look Indian the culture and more importantly the food run through my veins. Being of Indian descent gives me a unique advantage over other bloggers when it comes to talking about the culture. Indian culture is extremely diverse and varied, almost like the US there is not a set culture for everyone but there are similarities. All Indians north, south, east, or west who are of the Hindu faith have a day of the year which is called Diwali(Div-al-lee) or the Festival of Lights, this day is the holiest of days for them in which they party and party hard and the entire country takes a day off(One of the only days off in the year). Most people believe that Indian food is mostly curry and that’s about it, however, that’s only a small amount of the food that they eat. They have grilled meats and veggies similar to kabobs and have veggies cooked with a plethora of hearty spices and herbs that just makes your mouth, and your eyes, water with joy. Dishes like Mutter Paneer and Aloo Gobi and Tandoori Chicken are just some of my favorite dishes to have, but no Indian meal is complete without bread. Whether it’s Naan or Roti every meal has a delicious bread to go along with it. India is a hot, humid, and rainy place, every meal was designed around that, plus because of this the only plants that can grow well are very hearty plants and extreme spices which is why their food is so spicy yet so delicious. India is predominantly Hindu and most Hindus do not eat beef some do not eat meat at all which is why there are so many veggie dishes and dishes that are made with chicken, pork, lamb, and other animals. Whether you just wanna try it to try it or start to fully immerse yourself into Indian culture it all starts with the food, you have to try it to believe it.

I found this very interesting. I also chose a country that I originate from. However I am less rounded in the food culture of the region. You displayed that you show a profound knowledge on the region. One similarity I found was that both of our countries circle around breads. Also one difference I found though was that India eats a lot of chicken but in Germany the main meat is pork.
