A Day in the Life of an Indian

Although Indian culture is diverse there is similarities among the people through their food. For instance, almost every Indian eats very spicy foods that are also extremely delicious. Every Indian person I have been in contact with has had some form or another of hand-held food, besides the fact that they eat every meal with their hands. The most prevalent form of hand-held food is some sort of ground vegetable with lots of spices which are then formed into little patties and cooked on a griddle until they are golden brown, Indians call them Tikkis, not the hut. The reason for this food is because the poorer Indians need some sort of food to take with them to work and the Tikki is fast, simple, and cheap to make which make them highly desirable for food on the go. One holiday where the Indians like to feast is Diwali(Div-all-lee), which is the Festival of Lights and during this week or so Indians all over gather to feast. They eat foods like lamb and egg curry, aloo gobi, mutter paneer, and Tandoori chicken, which if you ever get a chance you should try all of with are really delicious. They also have special desserts that they eat some are made with rice and sugar, some are pastries, and some are made with potato, my favorite of which is called Kheer (Key-Ear) which is rice and milk and sugar all boiled together till they make a paste like substance, which is SOOOOOOOOO good. They also have what is essentially a doughnut hole drowned in sugar syrup until it is soft and sweet and delicious. If you ever have the chance to have any of it, DOOOOO IT, you will not regret it and probably end up thanking me.
